We are seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist to join our team and take responsibility for setting and implementing the long-term commercial strategic direction for Business Services categories. This role involves working closely with senior leadership, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring alignment with global category strategies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement, strategic sourcing, and supplier negotiation, with the ability to handle complex contractual issues and drive cost reductions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set the long-term commercial strategic direction for assigned HR Category, ensuring alignment with overall company objectives.
- Influence key business and wider category stakeholders, developing and nurturing relationships with senior leadership.
- Lead supplier negotiations, ensuring strategic contractual relationships that minimise risk.
- Provide subject matter expertise on complex purchasing, technical, legal, and contractual issues.
- Define governance around best practices and purchasing policies.
- Achieve category targets for cost reductions, driving savings while maintaining quality.
- Implement Global Category Strategies across the organization.
- Manage Supplier Relationship Management processes, including regular supplier reviews and performance evaluations.
- Be responsible for category spend, savings forecasting, and regular reporting on progress and achievements.
Requirements and Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, HR or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in Procurement or an equivalent role.
- Strong business acumen and experience managing complex strategic sourcing projects.
- Proven experience working in a large, complex, and global business environment.
- Experience running RFx processes and managing supplier negotiations with minimal legal guidance.
- Ability to support large/complex supplier deals.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact with and present to VP levels.
- Strong analytical skills to independently investigate and solve complex procurement challenges.
- A supplier and customer-oriented mindset, focused on delivering results and building strong partnerships.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with contract negotiations in a global business environment.
- Prior experience in supplier relationship management and procurement governance.
- Familiarity with procurement tools and strategies for cost reduction and savings forecasting.
- HR experience.
